In the female Keirin, the race of the two azzurre riders in the first session ends. In the opening round Giada Capobianchi closes fifth, Martina Fidanza second surrendering to Dutchman Van der Peet sprint. In the repêchage Capobianchi closes behind the polish Paulina Petri, Fidanza surrenders to the British Georgia Hilleard. In either case the pass for the second round could only be taken by winning its own battery.
In qualifying for the 1 km Men’s time trial Michele Pongiluppi with his 1’05”033 gets the 24th time. Very well Davide Boscaro: his 1’02”998 allows him to close sixth and qualify for the final that will be held in the late afternoon.
In Madison’s 15-kilometer, Italy, represented by Jacopo Cavicchioli and Filippo Pastorelli, closes second with 14 points behind Malaysia (21), getting the qualification to the final in the second round on the distance of 30 km.
First will also be the final of the same discipline but the feminine. Here are eyes focused on the already medaled Letizia Paternoster and Chiara Consonni, wishing to close well the world championship that has already been to say more than satisfying.
At the end of the session, the first attempt was made to record of the hour by the tandem conducted by Stefano Cecini with Pierre Amighini, a blind athlete who wishes to celebrate the dream of participating in the Paralympics of Tokyo 2020 in the MB2 category. They have reached 156 laps, despite a fall for a tire that has held them for several minutes. Their compliments from our staff for the result achieved.
